Meet Our Vice President/Co-Founder

Tasha Jones’ entire nursing career has revolved around educating and mentoring nurses, nursing students, and healthcare professionals since 2001. Her focus is on nursing education, public health, and community advocacy. Dr. Jones has always had a passion for advising, collaborating, and facilitating an individual’s journey to understanding their roles in the healthcare continuum.

Dr. Jones has held many positions, from staff nurse to Director of Nursing, in many fields of nursing. She began her nursing career in 2001 after receiving her Associate Degree in Nursing from Bishop State Community College. She later pursued her Bachelor’s in Nursing (2008) and Masters's in Nursing (2014) from the University of Mobile. In 2018, she obtained the Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Administration and Education from Samford University, for which she received an award for her research “Addressing Adolescent Depression” while completing a post-masters Nurse Practitioner (2018) and post-Master's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (2022), both at Maryville University. She is dually certified as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and has completed the course of study for the Family Nurse Practitioner at Troy University. She is the past recipient of the Bishop State Community College Dean’s Scholarship (1998), the Alabama Board of Nursing’s Graduate Student Scholarship (2016), and Samford University’s DNP Project Award (2018). In 2023, she received the Health Advocacy Award by the Alabama State Nurses Association for her continuous contributions to the healthcare profession and community. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Bay Area Nurse Practitioner, American College of Healthcare Executives, Board Member of the Mobile Chapter National Alliance on Mental Illness, Health Occupations Students of America Chapter Advisor for LeFlore High School, Vice President/Co-Founder of Nurse Mentor Consultants, Inc., and Chairman of the Board for Holiday Transitional Center. She also serves on the Committee on Professional Issues Board for the Alabama State Nurses Association.

Dr. Jones is active in the community addressing both health disparities and nursing education as a keynote speaker at local churches and community venues. She is currently collaborating with local city officials, business leaders, and behavioral specialists to target objectives that will improve mental health among adolescents and young adults.
