Mrs. Pamela Pickens Taylor and Ms. Tasha Jones have impacted my successful completion of nursing school and my positive outlook on my nursing career. When I first met these two ladies, I was inspired to not only finish school but to also pursue a career in nursing education. I started out only desiring to get my Associate Degree in Nursing, but after seeing their work ethic and drive to excel in their careers, I am now finishing my Bachelor Degree in Nursing and have decided to start the Master's program.

This amazing group of mentors has really changed my life and I will be forever grateful. Back in 2015 when an unexpected incident occurred that not only negatively impacted my life, but theirs as well, this group of ladies went above the call of duty to try to help me in my situation when they did not have to. These ladies are very driven and spiritual in their careers as nurses and continue to enhance their knowledge every day. I can honestly say I would not have made it to where I am in my nursing career today if it was not for these precious mentors.

It is great joy and pleasure to share with you my personal experience of having a great mentor to help guide and educate me on my nursing career. I had the pleasure of being mentored by Mrs. Pamela Taylor; she was very encouraging and inspirational. Through her mentoring, I was able to learn and relearn productive and current nursing information and skills. My nursing journey for my Master of Nursing Education had some bumps along the way. I had a rotator cuff repair on my right shoulder, and my daughter spent 56 days in ICU, but by the grace of God and the persistent encouragement of Mrs. Taylor, I made it through, and I have now obtained my Doctorate in Nursing Practice.

Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Jones are the epitome of great nurses, nurse educators, and mentors. They helped me to do my personal best and make sure I set the bar high enough, even when I didn't believe I could achieve the goals that they had set for me. They taught me how to start my shifts off right, put my best self and foot forward, and excel in nursing. Thanks to them I have achieved these goals and continue to strive to do my personal best for myself and my patients.

Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Jones have been with me every step of my nursing career. When I felt like giving up, both of them were there to listen and there to encourage me. It is very rare to have nurse mentors to be so caring and truly there to help you succeed. I would not be where I am today without them.

There are so many emotions that can be experienced while going through nursing school, and a lot of them are not so pleasant. Many times, I wanted to give up and call it quits, but I was not allowed. The team of nurse mentors that backed me will forever be in my heart. This team included Pamela Taylor, who continually pushed, encouraged, and believed in my abilities to be a nurse. And now, I can proudly say, "I am a REGISTERED NURSE." I am a nurse who continues to be encouraged by positive role models such as Mrs. Taylor and those that surround her. I am a nurse made by great nurse mentors!

I can not let this day go by without letting the world know about my mentor Mrs. Pam Pickens Taylor. I can call/text her while she is vacationing in Hawaii and she will text me back in less than ten minutes. She can be on her way to Cancun Mexico yet still ask about how I'm doing with my studying. I could not and would not be an RN today if I didn't have her fighting, praying, and pushing me to never give up. She deserves more recognition than I could ever give her! Thanks, Mrs. Taylor!! #YouRock!

Pam Taylor and Tasha Jones have been such great mentors throughout my nursing school journey, even when our school closed unexpectedly. After continuing to pursue a nursing career, these ladies continued to be great nurse mentors and very encouraging during that most difficult time. They both went out of their way to help me and any of my other classmates to succeed and to be the best we could possibly be. I am forever grateful to them both; they are excellent nurses, wonderful nurse mentors, and great people.

Dr. Tasha Jones taught me that no matter how long it takes, stay focused on the end goal, apply myself, and don’t put limitations on what I could do.
Mrs. Pamela Pickens Taylor taught me how to be successful throughout nursing school by applying organization skills, structuring my life/studies, and never second guess myself. After my previous nursing school closed, myself and classmates commuted to the Montgomery campus and ended up back in Mobile Alabama at a local campus to complete my nursing degree. It was the encouraging words of Dr. Tasha Jones and Mrs. Pamela Pickens Taylor that helped me “finish strong.”
I will end by sharing two of my life scriptures that helped me during this season and they might help you too:
1.) Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” 2.)Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
You will be glad that you have chosen Mrs. Pamela Pickens Taylor and Dr. Tasha Jones mentoring services. I can not thank them enough for mentoring me.

Words cannot express the love, gratitude, and appreciation I have for my wonderful mentor Mrs. Pam Pickens-Taylor. In 2019 I had the pleasure of crossing paths with her and her mentoring services and decided to reach out to her for nurse mentoring and guidance. From day one of meeting her, she saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself. She has gone above and beyond mentoring and supporting me, not only on an educational level but a spiritual level as well. She has truly been a vessel for God. Whenever I have reached out to her, she has always made time for me, and I will be forever grateful, even during her busy times. My nursing journey was rough, but she always encouraged me to keep pushing and have faith. Her words will forever be with me. Mrs. Pam Pickens-Taylor is the epitome of a mentor, nurse, educator, and professional.
